Patriot Hemp cited by FDA, FTC over COVID-19 claims

salazar

CBD company Patriot Hemp was among four companies warned by the Food and Drug Administration and the Federal Trade Commission for selling fraudulent COVID-19 products. The FDA announced the action, which took place on May 8, as part of a regular roundup of its efforts focused on consumer safety during the pandemic.

The agencies cited AgroTerra, doing business as Patriot Hemp, for marketing its products with misleading claims that they are safe and effective in preventing COVID-19.

The FDA also noted that AgroTerra is part of the Amazon Associates program, in which a company can earn commissions by promoting the sale of multiple products on Amazon, which had misleading claims about their ability to mitigate, prevent, treat, diagnose or cure COVID-19.
