The latest CBD brand hitting convenience and natural stores is the brainchild of Colorado’s John Budd, a rancher who is partnering with U.S. Hemp Brokerage to launch an eponymous brand of salves, tinctures, softgels, gum and water-soluble products. The brand is meant to evoke rugged individualism and the working man, the company said.

"John had a vision to create a CBD line rooted in cutting-edge botany and agriculture, but he also wanted to offer a product that will resonate with hard-working men and women and how they live their lives," said Jeff Cole, founder and managing director of U.S. Hemp Brokerage. "John Budd products are priced for working folks who don't want to spend $200 for their CBD."

John Budd’s product line — which is set to be distributed in 1,000 U.S. convenience stores, as well as specialty and natural stores — includes Hot Damn Muscle Balm and Cut the Crud Balm, as well as 600-mg tinctures in natural and cinnamon flavors. The line also includes a 20-mg cinnamon gum three-pack. The company said it plans to expand with women-focused Jane Budd products later this summer, as well as add clothing and home products in the future.

"As a rancher and working man, John knows the value of putting something pure and real into his body," said Cole. "Whether it is sore hands and an achy back, or simply wanting to sleep better and have more focus during the day, John Budd and Jane Budd CBD products are designed for people who work hard and play hard."
